Countdown Begins for Eid al-Adha

Sacrificing is a Worship Performed for the Sake of Allah

We have entered the final days for Eid al-Adha, one of our religious holidays. The act of sacrifice, which began with Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail upon Allah's command and Allah sending a ram in Ismail's place, is a very important obligation for Muslims. Sacrifice, which is obligatory for everyone who is financially capable, is also a time of opportunity for the poor. The rights of the poor, neighbors, guests, and even animals should not be forgotten in the sacrifices made. Sacrifice should not be made solely for the purpose of meat. Worship done with such an intention is meaningless.

Livestock Markets Have Been Set Up in Cities

Livestock for sacrifice have arrived and taken their places in the livestock markets in all major cities. The preparation of areas designated by municipalities as market places has somewhat eased the burden on livestock sellers. Stiff negotiations have begun, and the sacrificial animals are starting to find their owners. Amidst this, some negative issues are also occurring in the livestock markets. Cleanliness and security are the biggest problems in these markets.
